Oral  History  Project

The Cabbage Tree Creek Oral History Project commenced in February 2015 and finished in December 2015.  The project was funded by a grant from the East Gippsland Shire Council and has been carried out by Hall Committee member and local researcher Scott Campbell-Smith.

As of December 2015 approximately 20 interviews have taken place and over 35 hours of audio history recorded.   Copies of over 200 photographs have been collected along with approximately 300 other documents,  A preliminary review of materials held by the Public Records Office has also taken place.

The purpose is the permanent recording of the memories, stories and life experiences of all persons who once lived or worked in Cabbage Tree Creek or had memories or an association with Cabbage Tree Creek.

The project will be ongoing and we would love to hear from anyone interested in recording and preserving the history of Cabbage Tree Creek.   Anyone wishing to make contact, donate photographs or documents or contribute stories can contact Scott Campbell-Smith by email at badycampbell@gmail.com
