October 2016 Concert in Cabbage Tree Creek Community Hall
Another wonderful evening concert of live music was held in the Cabbage Tree Creek Community Hall on Saturday night the 8 October 2016 when the Forge Theatre and Arts Hub presented Fred Smith with his wonderful show "Dust of Uruzgan". All who came were so amazed at the content of the show and the way Fred Smith handled the stories, some so sad, some funny, which together with his beautiful music, like poetry, touched everyone present. He was joined by Liz Frencham on double bass who also sang beautifully. They were accompanied by an excellent drummer. The audience enjoyed a suitably intimate evening and the Hall looked good with a wood fire going and flowers and tea lights on the tables. A lovely supper was provided by the women of Cabbage Tree Creek. |

Its been a long time since a concert of live music was held in the Cabbage Tree Creek Community Hall but that changed on Saturday night 25 July 2015 when the Forge Theatre and Arts Hub presented "The Beggars Sing". BACK TO CABBAGE TREE CREEK DEFERRED INDEFINITELY
The local community would still like to host a "Back To Cabbage Tree Creek" someday but because of lack of resources and actual people on the ground to do the coordination and the actual work it is now uncertain when this might take place. We do regret that we have not been able to organise the event as we expected but unfortunately our resources are just to limited to allow it to take place any time in the near future.
We do hope that this still might occur and if any date is eventually set the proposed details will be advertised. We know that there is still interest and the names of those who have contacted us and expressed an interest are now recorded on the page link below.

An article appeared in "The Age" Good Weekend section in their Six Reasons to Visit page about Cabbage Tree Creek and the surrounding areas. This article is reproduced in the attached file - click to read enlarged version. The publication of this article assisted in promoting a very successful concert by blues guitarist Nick Charles in a private beautifully landscaped garden in Cabbage Tree Creek on a balmy Sunday afternoon. |
