CABBAGE  TREE  CREEK  COMMUNITY

Cabbage Tree Creek is located in East Gippsland, 27 kilometres east of Orbost.  The village runs to the North and South and is transversed by the Princes Highway.  It is centrally located between Melbourne and Sydney and Canberra and is surrounded by the superb natural attractions of Far East Gippsland.  It is a short 10 minute drive to the coast and the beautiful beaches of Cape Conron.

The Cabbage Tree Creek township was originally established to support the booming timber industry of mid last century.  Since the closure of the mills and the decline of the 1970's and 80's the population is growing again and the town has become a lovely peaceful village.

The vibrant and active community now boasts a talented blend of resident artists, musicians, farmers, professionals and business people.
